A single documentary for BBC2 & BBC4

Filmed over three years, this film charts the lives of three families from Afghanistan, Algeria and Somalia as they experience feelings of isolation, homesickness, elation and bewilderment at the twists and turns of a complex legal process. It makes for a roller-coaster of contrasting moods as each family struggles to build a new life in a strange and sometimes hostile land (5 minute clip above).
